SINCERELY OSCAR is a new Off Broadway musical celebrating one of Broadway's greatest lyricist, Oscar Hammerstein. With a book by Doreen Taylor, who also stars along with Azudi Onyejekwe, this show / musical revue takes you through some of the most fantastic and iconic songs associated with Mr. Hammerstein, and a few more deep cuts from shows of which you might not know. The show also uses his words from letters and speeches to create a narrative through line. In addition to my chat with the both Doreen and Azudi, I also got to sneak in a chat with the show's Musical Director and Arranger, Lou Lanza. His arrangements will leave you wanting a cast album available before you leave that theater. Under the direction of Dugg McDonough , the show also is the first to bring some audio visual "WOW" Factor by using hologram technology as part of the show. It is definitely going to be a fabulous surprise for theater goers. For tickets and more information, click HERE . In the meantime, please enjoy my conversation with these awesome artists.
In that interview, along with book and screenwriter, John August, Mr. Lippa and I talked about the relationship between fathers and sons, and we shared a mutual moment about the loss of our own fathers. I think it caught us all of guard, and I have never really forgotten that moment. You can only imagine how excited I am now to talk to him again about his latest project with Ghostlight Records, UNBREAKABLE. This piece, featuring the San Francisco's Gay Men's Chorus, explores some of the major events and a few often forgotten heroes of LGBTQ History. He admits to being inspired by August Wilson's use of his decade by decade cycle of storytelling. We talk about his show and so much more. Please enjoy my conversation with the absolutely fabulous, Andrew Lippa. Scroll down further and you can revisit the first time Andrew and I met, too.

Here's an excerpt from my first ever solo radio broadcast.
Like many theater fans, I plotzed when I saw that FX just released a new trailer for its upcoming Fosse/Verdon miniseries. It takes viewers behind the glitz and glamour of Broadway power couple Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon to show their first interactions, her work with him behind the scenes, and the creation of Liza Minnelli's iconic "Mein Herr" costume in Cabaret.
The series, starring Sam Rockwell and Michelle Williams, will premiere April 9. The source material on which the limited series is based, is the biography, FOSSE, by Sam Wasson. Not to toot my own horn, but in my former work life, I actually interviewed Sam for that very book (Beep, Beep) . I said it then, and I'll say it again, it really is one of the most comprehensive biographies on Bob Fosse. I loved every page of it. Do yourself a favor and check out the book and my vintage interview from my old place.
The conversations were fun and brief, and I have guarantees from almost everyone to come and join me for a longer chat. After all, the Winter Garden Theateris across the street from the studio. Now enjoy my conversations with these fabulous folks.
