Add caption

OMG!!! We are totally at the NUMBER 1 spot of the Keith Price's Curtain Call Top 20 Most Popular Episodes in Year 1.  It is almost too fitting that Emmy, Tony and Drama Desk Award winning, actress/singer, Kristin Chenoweth, is the MOST POPULAR PODCAST EPISODES COUNTDOWN of YEAR 1.  She is a Broadway diva who has conquered stage, Big and Little Screen, and recording studios, to become one of the most beloved worldwide working artists working today.

Kristin has ALWAYS been a doll to me.  When we sit and chat, it feels like I am talking to one of my dearest friends, and we are giggling school girls.  In her most popular episode, she has presented us with her newest CD, The Art of Elegance.  It is Kristin giving you a more mature, more seasoned, more lived artist, at her absolute best.  Singing songs that she LOVES.  The CD actually made it to the #1Spot on Billboard Magazine's Jazz Chart.  POW!
Kristin, since this most popular episode,  returned to the Curtain Call to promote her limited run Broadway return in Kristin Chenoweth: My Love Letter to Broadway, her flawless performance in Hairspray Live, and even a Jewelry Line.  I loved Kristin before I had ever met her, and I have fallen in love with her since we met.  Congratulations Kristin and thank you so much for helping my professional Act 2 move forward.  Click HERE to hear our chat.

Top 20 Most Popular Episodes of Year 1 Number 2- Kurt Deutsch

If Keith Price's Curtain Call Top 20 Most Popular Episodes Countdown was a beauty contest, then in the First Runner Up Position, is Kurt Deutsch, President and Founder of Sh-K Boom Records. Being a bonafide theater nerd, upon meeting Grammy Award winning actor, producer, director, Kurt Deutsch, I realized that there should be a protocol that starts with bowing your head and kissing his ring. This man is one of the people in the music business that is responsible for making sure that cast recordings of some of the biggest and smallest shows will live on forever, and it gives us theater geeks something to stay hidden and listen to in our rooms for hours while supplying us theater nerds worldwide with the music that will define our entire existences.   If you are singing lyrics from the Tony and Grammy winning Book Of Mormon, or getting your salsa/merengue/rap flava from In The Heights, or if you want to ride the cool bluegrass of last season's Grammy Award nominated cast recording, BRIGHT STAR, it is all thanks to the effort of Kurt Deutsch and his amazing team.  I will admit that I was surprised to see Kurt this high up the chart, but I am glad that he is.  He is a doing God's work, for those of us that belong to the Church of Broadway.  Check out my conversation with Kurt Deutsch HERE.

S EPATHA MERKERSON: Emmy Award Winning, 2x Tony Award Nominated, Actress/Producer, Arts Activist, and Gala Honoree.

It is always a surprise moment when you get an unexpected call to interview anyone, but when it is Emmy Award and 2x Tony Award nominated actress/producer,S Epatha Merkerson,  currently on NBC's Chicago Med, you find the time and space. How did it get better? Being able to chat with her at the world famous Sardi's Restaurant, that's how.   Ms. Merekerson took some time out of her busy schedule to chat with me about her lengthy career, her appreciation of Dick Wolf and his visions, being an activist for the Arts, and at times, just a good giggle.  On April 3, 2017, Ms Merkerson will be honored by The Alliance of Resident Theaters at their huge fundraising gala. Top 20 Most Popular Episodes Year 1 Number 3: Giuseppe Bausilio

Here we are at the Top 3 position of the Keith Price's Curtain Call Countdown of Top 20 Most Popular Episodes of Year One.  Sitting absolutely pretty in this seat is the adorable Giuseppe Bausilio.  When he walked into the studio with his mother and publicist for our interview, he lit up the room with his smile and his infectious positive energy.  He just finished his run in ALADDIN and was soon to start his run in CATS.  During the early portion of the run with CATS, he was diagnosed with a spinal tumor that was going to require surgery and tons of physical rehabilitation. He kept us all abreast of everything via his social media, and has since been recovering.  We even saw each other at the Broadway Cares Flea Market, and he was with his mom and dad.  I must admit that this young man is probably the most charming thing ever.  I know that his fans were responsible for getting him up the countdown, and also sending him those positive loving vibes that Giuseppe radiates to anyone in his sphere.  CLICK HERE to hear our wonderful conversation.

Top 20 Most Popular Episodes Year 1 Number 4: Reeve Carney, Victoria Justice, and Ryan McCartan

Wow, we are in the final four of the Keith Price's Curtain Call's Top 20 Most Popular Episodes Year 1.  I felt my inner teenage fan girl make an appearance.  When I was asked to cover the new Rocky Horror Picture Show that was on Fox last October.  It had major fan girl faves
including the gorgeous TV Star Victoria Justice,  TV Star and Broadway performer Reeve Carney, and TV hunk Ryan McCartan. There were many things said about the film remake of the classic, but one thing cannot be denied, these young people gave their all, and talking to them was absolutely fantastic.  I think their individual fan bases may have contributed to their rise to the final four.  In any case, I really adored getting to share a great moment with some pretty awesome folks. Top 20 Most Popular Episodes Year 1 Number 5: Laura Michelle Kelly

So close and still a ways to go to get to the Number One spot of Keith Price's Curtain Call Top 20 Most Popular Episodes Year 1 Countdown, but we are moving up to the Number 5 position with the amazingly talented, super gorgeous, leading lady currently touring in THE KING AND I with our fabulous friend to the podcast, Jose Llana.  She also stole my heart as Mary Poppins, the fabulous Ms. Laura Michelle Kelly.   When we sat for our chat,  Laura was bravely stepping into the cabaret spotlight at famed NYC supper club, Feinstein's 54 Below

She and I had such a fun time talking.  After a few minutes, I felt like I made a new GFF.  Of course, I haven't heard from her since.  No Tea, No Shade, as the kids say, because I know that she is touring the country, but I would not be mad at a postcard or something.  LOL.   I am so glad that you guys that listen to this podcast actually love her as much as I do. (Hey Michelle gurl, call me!)  Click Here to hear my delicious conversation with a fab leading lady.

Top 20 Most Popular Episodes Year 1 Number 6: Alix Korey

We are still climbing to the Number One spot on Keith Price's Curtain Call Top 20 Most Popular Episodes Year 1.  Right now in the Number 6 spot is veteran actress, Alix Korey.  She recently finished up a magnificent run in fabulous Tony Award nominated revival of Fiddler on the Roof, starring one of my favorite actors, Danny Burstein.  In addition to Fiddler, Ms Korey has been in a few shows on and Off Broadway.  She is also a teacher, chanteuse, and one of the founding members of Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS.  Talking to this great lady was one of my many highlights this past year.  She really loves the craft of acting and has taught many students who are currently Broadway actors , including her former costar, Adam Kantor, and Tony Award winning Nikki M. James.  Since this interview, every time that I happen to run into her out and about, she always is very kind to me.  Click here to hear our fun chat. She really is a hoot.

Top 20 Most Popular Episodes Year 1 #7- Jeffrey Scot Phillips

As we continue our push to number one on the Keith Price's Curtain Call Top 20 Most Popular Episodes Countdown, we are taking a moment at the Number 7 position to spend some time with someone not connected to theater at all. The popularity of this podcast surprised me because I did not think that people would even care.  Now I know that people who like this theater based podcast also enjoy more than just theater talk.   This book , Big Fat Food Fraud, written by nutritionist and health food entrepreneur,Jeff Scot Phillips was given to me by my friend Judith Regan, after she heard me rambling on about the calorie count on some faux fabulous healthy food thing I was eating in front of her.  She handed me this book and dropped the mic as she exited the office kitchen area.  She is fierce.

I read the book,  and I really could not put it down. I made the decision that I wanted to talk to him.  I was fascinated about how we are being preyed upon by the corporate nature of the Fitness and Nutrition industry AT the expense of our health. Also,  I was fascinated about the time that it took him to decide to tell the truth, once he discovered where and how he fit in the machinations of perpetuating the fraud.  He is absolutely forthcoming and honest, and he has a good sense of humor, because I had to show out a little.  Click Here to hear our conversation.

Top 20 Most Popular Episodes Year 1- #8 Dan Fogler

We are moving on up the countdown, and we are at the Number 8 position with Tony Award Winning actor Dan Fogler.  My first introduction to Dan was in his Tony Award winning performance in the William Finn musical, THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE.   In between he had written and starred in several films.  He even made a return to the stage in William Finn's A NEW BRAIN, alongside #11 on the countdown, Rema Webb.  He has carved a great niche for himself as a performer, producer, screenwriter, and even podcaster.   He is so funny and so quick witted, it is so fun to talk to him.  When we sat down for our conversation, he was waiting for his big film, FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM , to open.  We see how that has turned out for him.  The rumor is there will be more films for him in the series. You can see him guest starring on shows like ABC's The Goldbergs.   It is always fun to see Dan, because we record our podcast in the same studio.  Click Here for our conversation.

Top 20 Most Popular Episodes Countdown #9: Robert Creighton

As we keep moving upward to the Number 1 spot on Keith Price's Curtain Call Top 20 Most Popular Episodes of Year 1, I am very excited that in the Number 9 spot is Award winning, Canadian actor, composer, lyrisict, musician, and truly an absolute doll of a man, Robert Creighton.  Right now, you can see him 8 shows a week, living the actor's dream of starring in CAGNEY.  He wrote music and lyrics for this show along with Christopher McGovern.  He and that cast are tap dancing for their LIVES.

I met Bobby (that's what his friends call him) officially on the red carpet at the Drama Desk Awards. He was so kind, and we connected.  Of course, when I found out that one of his friends is Titus Burguss, it totally explained his comfort around a big, black, gay guy.  It also explains why Titus is on Robert's CD "Ain't We Got Fun!"  Needles to say,  Bobby is the cat's pajamas. Click Here to hear the #9 interview on the countdown.  Also, you have until May 28,2017 to see CAGNEY.

Top 20 Most Popular Episodes in Year 1 #10: Keala Settle

I cannot believe that we are at the halfway mark to the The Top 20 Most Popular Episodes in Year 1. Breaking through the chart at Number 10 is the Tony Award Nominated actress, Keala Settle. She stole my heart with her laughter and power vocals in the amazing Hands on A Hardbody .  I later saw her again in Les Miz, Waitress, and at Birdland Jazz Club.   We finally met a press junket for the New Dramatist Guild last year.  I begged and begged to get her on the podcast.  When she did, I again feel like I made a new friend.  Click Here to hear my fabulous and heartwarming interview with this goddess.
