Fall is Coming With A Crop Of Amazing Talent This Month at Feinstein's 54 Below

The end of the summer is nigh and fall is coming. Feinstein's 54 Below is starting to get the pre-fall season jumping off with some fabulous folks doing AMAZING shows!!!  Shoshana Bean  Jason Danieley,  Nicole Henry, and Krysta Rodriguez  are bringing their individual vocal stylings to the fame supper club.  Please enjoy my conversations with these amazing artists and watch them live from Feinstein's at the press previews.

March Madness is Happening at Feinstein's 54 Below

There are some stand out things to do when in NYC, and Feinstein's 54 Below is one of those places that a theater lover can have an amazing time with some of the favorite Broadway stars.  This march is no exception.  I recently had a chance to talk to some of the people that will be lighting March on fire with their upcoming shows.  Please take some time and enjoy my conversations with these fabulous folks.

October's Roof Raising at Feinstein's 54 Below

                                                                            The Fall season is in full swing at Feinstein's 54 Below and some of Broadway's biggest names will be delivering some really great, personal, and fun shows. Make some plans to visit and catch some of the highlights of the month.

2018 TONY© and DRAMA DESK© Award winner, Lindsey Mendez, returns to Feinstein's 54 Below to turn it out and up with her AMAZING voice.  I have been a fan of Lindsey since the moment I saw her in DOGFIGHT.  She showed how amazing her range is in Carousel.   She is truly a one of a kind performer that has broken a few more barriers by just being a talented person, who happens to be Latina!!!!! 

2x Tony Award/ 4x Drama Desk Award Nominee, and one of my personal divas, Kate Baldwin, is returning to Feinstein's 54 Below with a new act entitled HOW DID YOU GET MY NUMBER? I will admit that I have major love and adoration for Ms Baldwin and here talent, but after you spend anytime with her, you will love her like I do. Singer, Actress, Writer, Tony Award© Nominee, Melissa Errico, returns to the cabaret stage, to promote her latest project SONDHEIM SUBLIME.  She is putting her love and spin on tunes written by one our greatest lyricist/Composer, Stephen Sondheim. She has cleverly gathered some of Broadway's brightest and most talented crew,( Krysta Rodriguez, Lauren Marcus, George Salazar, Andy Mientus, and Nick Blaemire) to bring those treasures to life. Relying On The Kindness of "Not So" Strangers

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to attend a press event at one of my favorite places, Feinstein's 54 Below.  If you really follow the podcast, then you may have heard one of my many conversations from my favorite banquet in town. The space is always magical, and on this particular day it bordered on being miraculous.  I quickly rushed to set up for the amazing back to back interviews with Tony Award winners Brian Stokes Mitchell and Lea Salonga, Tony Award nominee Marin Mazzie and her fabulously talented, award winning, husband, the amazing Jason Danieley.

As I brilliantly ended what I thought was my last interview, I got very excited because I came with my editing equipment,  and I knew that I had some downtime before the singing performances began to download my FABULOUS interviews.  Well, there was NOTHING on my recorder.

 I literally felt my entire heart just sink.  I say that because I talked to these people truly from the heart, and I was certain it was recording.  During my inner panic, I calmly called over to the publicist who put the event together and told him my plight.  I also decided to go to the Zen place within me.  I just spent about 20 mins talking to some of the most amazing people working in the biz. To have Jason say that he was rooting for my insane campaign to be the host of the Tonys, meant EVERYTHING!  Catching up with Lea about her life as a working mom with an extraordinary gig is awesome, especially when she really does remember chatting with me.  Of Course, anytime with Stokes is always the best.   I felt that our time together transcended a typical interviewer and his interviewees scenario. I managed to get pictures and shoot some video.  If this was all that the Theater Gods would allow with no audio proof, then I would be happy and blog about it.

After talking with the amazing event publicist,  Brett Oberman, and his amazing team  managed to get each and everyone of those wonderful people to come back and give me more time to reconnect and make something happen again.  I get a little misty when I think about how generous these people were to me with their time.  It was weird to sort of recreate some of that interview energy, but what was great about the whole experience? I actually think the second set of interviews were better and still filled with even more gratitude than the first round.

So close and still a ways to go to get to the Number One spot of Keith Price's Curtain Call Top 20 Most Popular Episodes Year 1 Countdown, but we are moving up to the Number 5 position with the amazingly talented, super gorgeous, leading lady currently touring in THE KING AND I with our fabulous friend to the podcast, Jose Llana.  She also stole my heart as Mary Poppins, the fabulous Ms. Laura Michelle Kelly.   When we sat for our chat,  Laura was bravely stepping into the cabaret spotlight at famed NYC supper club, Feinstein's 54 Below. 

She and I had such a fun time talking.  After a few minutes, I felt like I made a new GFF.  Of course, I haven't heard from her since.  No Tea, No Shade, as the kids say, because I know that she is touring the country, but I would not be mad at a postcard or something.  LOL.   I am so glad that you guys that listen to this podcast actually love her as much as I do.
